iTunes U is an Apple-hosted service that gives universities a space for their audio and video podcasts. Mason spent several years trying to get a presence up and running.
One of the big roadblocks was authentication. Previously, for iTunes U to work, you have to setup an integration point with your university LDAP/identity management system. Unfortunately Mason’s LDAP didn't have course information available at the time.
To solve the problem, I created a web application called the iTunes U Role Manager, that allowd us to connect faculty and students with the various courses.
Additionally, I was responsible for the design of both the website and our iTunes U section (which includes most of the banners and course art).
